I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to the citizens of Indianapolis for the privilege of serving as the District 9 City County Councillor for the last twelve years. It has been an amazing opportunity to meet so many great people and to learn so much about the wonderful things that are being done every day by residents, businesses, schools and organizations throughout the District to make this a better City. We have accomplished a great deal over the three terms that I was on the Council and I am especially proud of our efforts in the passing a strong Human Rights Ordinance, improving the city's finances with a better mix of funding and some real improvement in how and where we spend City money, better support for and recognition of the importance that the arts play in the quality of life, and significant progress improving our urban neighborhoods…that is a big list! And working together we got it done.
